Turning E-commerce requirements into customer-focused digital products.

Hi, I'm Lauren.
I'm a Senior E-commerce Developer and I've spent the last six years working across 14 UK and European websites. Although I have a development background, a lot of my job is about understanding what a team needs, working out how we can make it work on the website and helping everyone involved get it live.
I work with teams across the business as well as our external development agency, so I'm often the person connecting the idea with the technical side of actually delivering it.
I'd like my next role to give me more ownership of that side of the work, while still making use of the technical and E-commerce experience I already have.

About me

Technical enough to understand complexity. Commercial enough to keep the customer and outcome in focus.

Before I was a developer, I had 11 years in the Beauty Industry working over different sectors including cruise ships & self employed.

After Covid, I re-trained in web development and have enjoyed the challenges & rewards ever since. I've worked up to Senior Developer, where I am known for my knowledge and getting projects delivered.

Over time my role has naturally become much broader than coding. I spend a lot of my time working with different teams, figuring out requirements, solving problems with our agency, testing changes and getting releases over the line. That's the part of the job I enjoy most and where I'd like to keep progressing.

Selected work

Case studies

01

Automation · E-commerce operations

Reducing campaign delivery bottlenecks across multiple websites

Why we did it

Campaign banner changes were dependent on technical resource, creating delays, repeated manual work and a higher risk of mistakes across multiple markets and locales.

What I did

I helped define a scalable approach, translated campaign and localisation needs into structured requirements, built guardrails around scheduling and priority, and worked through edge cases with stakeholders.

How it worked

The solution introduced structured campaign data, scheduling, locale handling, priority rules, fallbacks, testing controls and safer release processes.

What changed

Reduced the developer campaign workflow from around three weeks to one week, with less repeated manual work and improved consistency across multiple markets. I also presented the solution to developers within our parent company in the US.

02

Digital transformation · Platform integration

Supporting a major D365 E-commerce integration

Why we did it

A major business systems change affected E-commerce product data, SKU structures, URL hierarchies, operational processes and launch readiness.

What I did

I acted as the E-commerce subject matter expert, identified digital dependencies, supported cutover planning and helped teams understand the impact on websites and customer journeys.

How it worked

I worked across technical and business teams to validate requirements, flag risks, support testing and keep E-commerce considerations visible throughout the programme.

What changed

Improved cross-team understanding of E-commerce risks and dependencies, with stronger launch preparation and fewer assumptions around digital impact.

03

Customer experience · Omnichannel

Delivering Click & Collect for Central Europe

Why we did it

Customers needed a more convenient fulfilment option, while the business needed a solution that worked across E-commerce, store operations and market-specific processes.

What I did

I coordinated requirements across E-commerce, development, operations and local markets, helping translate operational needs into a workable digital journey.

How it worked

The work focused on clear customer journeys, practical fulfilment rules, localised requirements, release coordination and cross-functional testing including coding and developing all the transactional emails.

What changed

A new omnichannel capability for Central European customers, delivered through collaboration across digital and operational teams. Helping the business become more omni-channel, connecting customers to stores across regions.

04

Performance · SEO · Conversion

Improving site performance and Core Web Vitals

Why we did it

Performance issues affected customer experience, SEO and conversion, with complex dependencies across images, banners, scripts and third-party tools.

What I did

I investigated performance problems, worked with development partners, supported prioritisation and helped identify practical improvements across page templates and campaign content. Moving code out of the header onto GTM to reduce performance downgrade.

How it worked

Work included LCP investigation, image loading strategy, responsive image handling, third-party impact review and stronger performance awareness during delivery.

What changed

Better visibility of performance issues, clearer technical actions and a stronger focus on performance as part of the customer experience.

05

Store experience · UX · Third-party delivery

Simplifying the store locator experience with Yext

Why we did it

Store information and updates were spread across separate processes, creating unnecessary work for Store Operations and making the customer-facing journey harder to manage.

What I did

I managed the release of Yext enhancements to our store locator, working across the website, third-party tooling and internal teams to make sure the changes worked for both customers and Store Operations.

How it worked

I gathered requirements, coordinating with the store ops team, and processed the work through our development agency, testing and releasing while keeping the customer journey and the operational process in view.

What changed

Helped streamline Store Operations activity from three separate flows into one while improving how store information is managed and presented online.

06

CRO · Analytics · UX

Using data and testing to improve customer journeys

Why we did it

Customer journeys and commercial decisions needed stronger evidence from analytics, testing and behaviour rather than opinion alone.

What I did

I supported CRO and A/B testing activity, helped connect tools and data, translated findings into delivery requirements and worked with UX and marketing teams.

How it worked

The focus was on measurable hypotheses, reliable tracking, stakeholder alignment and turning insights into changes that could be tested and iterated.

What changed

A more evidence-led approach to digital improvements and stronger collaboration between analytics, UX, marketing and development.

How I work

How I get things from idea to live

Understand what is needed

Talk to the people involved and understand what they actually need from the website and why.

Work out the details

Work out what needs to happen technically, what might get in the way and what the agency or internal teams need from me.

Keep the work moving

Keep the internal teams and our development agency connected, answer questions and help keep the work moving.

Test & release

Test the changes, work through any issues and coordinate getting them live across the right websites and markets.

See what we can improve

Look at GA4, testing results and feedback to see what worked and what we should improve next.

Supporting the team

I support junior developers day to day, hold regular 1-to-1s and have also been involved in hiring and getting new starters settled into the team.
